our EVENTS
Hudson Mohawk skaters aren't just practicing skills in lessons! Throughout the year, we offer and participate in a variety of performances, competitions and charity events, both on-ice and off.
The Garren Invitational
ABOUT THE GARREN
In 1950, under the guidance of Managing Director H.L. “Jack” Garren and Peg Garren, a group of aspiring skaters created the RPI Figure Skating Club. The club's goal was to encourage the artistic sport of figure skating.
While the name has since changed to the Hudson Mohawk Figure Skating Club, its goal has not. That is why since 1983, the Club has honored it -- as well as the memory of its founders -- by hosting the Garren Invitational Competition.
HOLIDAY HAPPINESS SHOW
Each December, the HMFSC hosts a spectacular ice show, performed by Learn to Skate classes, club solo skaters and synchronized skating teams.
